The rainy season in Acapulco is very gentle for tourists. It just lasts
from June to September,
and rainfalls usually occur after 11 pm or even midnight. So this won't
have any effect on your
sunbathing.
By the way, you might like a rainy day now and then in summertime!
For current Acapulco weather information, see below.
The reason why Acapulco weather follows this pattern is
because the mountains are not that close to the city so the rain showers
come later to the port. The other good thing about those late
rains is that it helps the vegetation to grow better since the water is not dryed
during the day but
well absorbed by night.
Ocean water temperatures: the average ocean water temperature
is 80°F. As of May/June, the oceans water temperature is climbing and climbing,
from october to march the water gets colder.
But don't worry: the ocean will still be hot enough to swim in!
In general, Mexican ocean temperatures are perfect all year round.
Be aware of the safety flags on Acapulco beaches. Don't go swimming if there
is a red or black flag, this means the ocean has strong undertow and currents
towards the open sea.
Be aware of the sun in Cancun, since it shines very strong. Don't be amazed when you get sun-burnt even on a cloudy day!
Please use sun protection lotion when you are out in the sun. Use sun protection with a high blocking-factor for your children.
When you go for a refreshing swim in the ocean, you might consider wearing a
T-shirt because you get sun-burnt in the sea even quicker then by walking in
the sun!
Come and enjoy the Acapulco weather on your Acapulco vacation!
