Cancun weather and Playa del Carmen weather are sub-tropical climates, which
means it is warm all year round.
Summer weather in Cancun mainly is very hot.
During the winter months, the Cancun climate is ideal
for tourists coming from cold climates to get the perfect
combination of a nice vacation destination, incredible beaches and awesome
weather: sunshine throughout the day.
Average daytime winter temperatures in Cancun are in the mid 80's
F (29 C) with evenings in the upper 60's F (19-20 C), so it can be a
bit chilly at night.
In summer season Cancun
weather gets a little hotter, as well as in Playa del Carmen, with daytime temperatures around
90 F (32 C) and evening temperatures in the mid 70's F (24 C).

No surprise: like weather in Mexico in general, high temperatures all year
round in Cancun.
Winter months in Cancun are very comfortable, just make
sure you bring a sweater to cover your back at night.
From February to May, it practically never rains in Cancun and
flowers can be found everywhere. Spring is a beautiful time of year here.
The ocean water gets calmer and warmer, as temperatures rise.
In Cancun summer, blue skies prevail.
The rainy season comes with rainfall that usually
is heavy but for a short time in the afternoons. Thunder storms at this
time of year, can be pretty impressive but they only last for an hour or so.
Autumn is the time for tropical storms and hurricanes.
That doesn't mean there are hurricanes every week, or even every year, but it can be rainy and
windy this time of year. It's still warm in Cancun.
Ocean water temperatures in Cancun: average temperature
of the Gulf of Mexico is 82°F.
As you can imagine, the ocean temperatures are the highest in July and August.
But water temperatures are good to take a swim all year round!
